Miguel A. Riglos
Founding Partner
Miguel Riglos has over three decades of experience in investment banking, asset management, and multi-asset portfolio construction for long-term investors.
He began his career in 1990 at Banco Río de la Plata, then the second-largest privately owned bank in Argentina, where he worked in the investment banking group analyzing and structuring transactions related to Argentina’s privatization process, including major public offerings in the oil and gas, natural gas, and telecommunications sectors.
Between 1995 and 1998, Mr. Riglos served as Managing Director of Río Advisory, a subsidiary of the Pérez Companc family, advising Inter Río Holdings, the family’s investment vehicle in the energy, telecommunications, and electricity sectors. During this period, he led capital raising efforts exceeding $400 million for acquisitions of privatized companies and acted as portfolio manager for the group’s liquid assets.
During the same period, he was appointed Director of CIP Services, the management company of the Argentine Private Development Trust, an internationally sponsored investment vehicle funded with approximately $1.3 billion in Argentine sovereign debt. He represented the trust on the boards of several portfolio companies and oversaw the orderly divestment of its assets, achieving an internal rate of return above 40% over the life of the trust.
Following the sale of Banco Río to Banco Santander in 1997, Mr. Riglos was asked to establish the Pérez Companc family’s investment office in New York. As Managing Director, he was responsible for overall portfolio strategy, governance, and final investment decisions.
From New York, he structured and supervised a series of fund-of-funds portfolios across equities, fixed income, hedge funds, private equity, and real estate, managing capital exclusively for family members. He led the office until its closure in March 2024.
In March 2024, together with his long-standing partner Ignacio López Gaffney, he founded Southern Cross Investment Partners S.L., an independent investment advisory firm based in Madrid, Spain, focused on advising long-term investors through a disciplined multi-asset approach.
