Ignacio López Gaffney has over three decades of experience in global asset management, with a focus on portfolio analysis, manager evaluation, and multi-asset portfolio implementation across public and private markets.
Prior to co-founding Southern Cross Investment Partners S.L., Ignacio spent 26 years as a senior investment manager at the Pérez Companc family office in New York. In this role, he was involved in all aspects of the investment management process, including strategic asset allocation, manager selection, portfolio construction, and risk management, working collaboratively on investment decisions within a clearly defined governance structure.
He played a senior role in the ongoing management of discretionary multi-asset portfolios, with responsibility for detailed portfolio analysis, performance monitoring, and the evaluation and implementation of investment opportunities across long-only equities, fixed income, hedge funds, private equity, and real estate.
Earlier in his career, Ignacio served as a senior analyst at Banco Río de la Plata S.A., working within the investment banking team alongside Miguel A. Riglos, and began his professional career at Banco Mariva S.A. in 1992.
In March 2024, together with Miguel A. Riglos, he co-founded Southern Cross Investment Partners S.L., an independent investment advisory firm based in Madrid, Spain, focused on advising long-term investors through a disciplined multi-asset approach.
